California State University San Marcos - B.A. in Literature and Writing Studies
Before pursuing nursing, I earned my first bachelor’s degree in Literature and Writing, where I developed a deep appreciation for the diversity of human experience. Reading texts from around the world allowed me to connect with people from countless backgrounds and perspectives, teaching me empathy through story. The program also strengthened my ability to organize and communicate complex information clearly—skills that now serve me daily in nursing, where understanding and communication are at the heart of compassionate care.

San Diego State University - Professional Certificate in Grant Writing
After completing my first degree, I earned a Professional Certificate in Grant Writing to channel my communication skills toward meaningful impact. I wanted to help bring funding and resources to disadvantaged populations and communities, and this program gave me the tools to do so. It taught me how structured writing, collaboration, and strategic planning can translate compassion into action—something that continues to influence the way I approach advocacy and patient care today.
